RECON MISSION
While serving as the Admin NCO for Det 2, 834 AirDiv at Cam Ranh Bay in 1971, I had the honor to accompany CW2 Fressland on a recon mission. Fressland was the son of Col. Fressland the commander of Det 2. (Renowned for dropping the infamous Daisy Cutter bomb.) One day, Col Fressland and his OV-1 pilot son came to my office with an extra flight helmet and announced that I would be accompanying his son on a mission. I was very impressed with the maneuverability of the OV-1 (I became air sick after a vertical dive to take photos and was handed a navigation map to use as an air sickness bag.) After releasing my stomach distress, I throughly enjoyed the rest of the flight.

THE VIETNAM WALL - THIS IS AMAZING!

First, click on the link then click on a state.
When it opens, scroll down to the city where you went to high school and look at the names.

Click on the name and it will give details of the person's death, a picture, or at least their bio and medals.
Someone spent a lot of time and effort to create it. I hope that everyone who receives this appreciates what those who served in Vietnam sacrificed for our country. Pass the link on to others, as many knew wonderful people whose names are listed.

JOHN CRAWFORD OV-1 NOTES
After my wife of 61 years passed away in August 2021, I faced the daunting task of sorting through the mountain of memorabilia she had accumulated during her long very active life. I nearly overlooked this note in which she describes her emotions when she finally experienced the Mohawk in flight.
Hope this resonates with others
